Search for groups on Telegram

Method 1: Built-in Search

The easiest way to find an interest group on Telegram is to use the search facilities available in the client app (both the desktop version and the Android and iOS version will work) and the web version.

1. 1. For the example, we are going to use the Windows application. What we need is a search box above the list: type the name of the group (preferably exact) or related keywords. Dynamically generated relevant results will appear at the bottom. Select the one most relevant to your goals and click the left mouse button.
   2. Check the latest posts from the group you're interested in and, if that's okay with you, click "To subscribe".

This method is basic, but it is not without disadvantages: it is necessary to know the specific name of the group chat, plus there is no search by categories.

Method 2: Internet Search

If your target is not a specific group, you should use any suitable search engine.

1. 1. Open your browser, your search box or your preferred search engine and enter a query like чат в телеграм *интересующая тема*.

1. 1. From the results, select the ones you find interesting and click or tap on them.

1. 1. The specific form of the group may vary, but in most cases there is a redirect or direct button, clicking will open the application associated with the links.
      

      Important! Only the dedicated client works this way, the web version of the messenger does not this functionality yet.

Direct search is more convenient because the results are more clearly arranged in the browser, but there is a risk that phishing links will appear, so always be careful where you click and do not do it thoughtlessly.

Optional: Private communities

A few words also about private groups. They are groups that can only be entered through an invitation link, so they do not appear in the local search through Telegram itself. However, there are ways to find them.

1. Private communities, hip of which does not imply paid access, are usually found on thematic resources or various aggregators. Therefore, the algorithm for finding such groups involves browsing the relevant sites.
2. The second option is to receive an invitation link from the community istration. They are often kept private to minimize the appearance of spam or scammers, so by ing the creators it is possible to get an invitation.

There are, unfortunately, no other types to find private communities.
