Installing the Telegram application on Android devices

The popular Telegram messenger, developed by the creator of the VKontakte social network Pavel Durov, is becoming increasingly popular with s. The application is available in a desktop version on Windows and macOS, as well as on mobile devices with iOS and Android. Telegram installation on Android

Almost any application on Android devices can be installed in various ways: official and, so to speak, solutions. We tell you more about each of them below.

Method 1: Play Store on the device

Most smartphones and tablets running the Android operating system initially contain Play Market in their arsenal. This is the official Google store, through which applications are searched, ed, installed and updated. Installing Telegram from Google Play on such devices is quite simple, the main thing is to adhere to the following algorithm:

1. 1. Launch Play Store by clicking its shortcut. The latter can be located both on the home screen and in the application menu.

1. 1. Tap on the search bar to activate it, enter "Telegram" there , and then click the search button highlighted on the virtual keyboard.
   2. The first result in the search results is the desired messenger. You can now "Install" by clicking on the corresponding button. If you want, you can familiarize yourself with the description of the application by tapping «Details» , and only after that start its installation.
   3. The Telegram procedure will end as soon as it was started, and once completed, the messenger can be "Open" .
   4. In the application welcome window that will greet you when you first launch it, click the link below «Continue in Russian» .

1. 1. Accept that Telegram will have access to calls and SMS by tapping "To accept" , and then confirm your consent by tapping "Let" twice .
   2. Enter your mobile phone number (new or previously linked to your ) and click the check mark in the upper right corner or the Enter button on the virtual keyboard.

Method 2: Play Store on computer

You can access the Play Market not only from an Android smartphone or tablet, but also from any computer that uses the browser and the web version of the Google service. Go to the Google Play Store website

This option to install Telegram on Android is done using almost the same algorithm as the one we considered in the previous part of the article. The only difference is that, in this case, all actions are performed directly through the browser on the PC, and someone will probably find this approach even more convenient. We will consider another, the most versatile option.

Method 3: APK file

At the beginning of the first method, we said that the Play Store is pre-installed on most Android devices, but some are still missing. This is possible in at least two cases: a custom operating system is installed on a smartphone without Google services, or it is intended for sale in China, where these services are simply not used. You can install Play Market on devices of the first type, but not the second, you need to update them first, which is not always possible. You can install Telegram on devices without Google Play Store using the APK, the application installation file. Find it yourself, using the search in your browser, or simply follow the link we provide.

Note: The steps below are done from a smartphone. If you want, you can the APK file first on your computer and then move it to your mobile device memory by following our instructions.

APK for Telegram installation

1. 1. By clicking the link above, scroll down to the block «All versions» , where the different versions of the APK files to install Telegram are presented.    6. To start the installation, tap the file. If the installation of applications from unknown sources is prohibited on your smartphone, a corresponding notification will appear. Clicking on the label "Settings" , you will be redirected to the appropriate section of the operating system. Move the switch opposite the element to the active position. "Allow installation from this source" , then go back to the APK file and run it again.

      Touch the inscription "Install" and wait for the Telegram installation procedure to finish.

This method is the most difficult of all those discussed in this article. However, in cases where there are no Google services on the mobile device, otherwise Telegram just won't work, you just need to use the APK.
