Clipchamp video editor

Microsoft has recently acquired a video editor called Clipchamp. The purpose is not clear, but it is possible that in the future it will come with Windows in one way or another, however, it can be used now, which we will try to do: I together with you, since before the news of the acquisition did not know of such publisher.

This brief review covers the features and functions of the Clipchamp video editor, its free use, and other information that may be useful. You may also like: The best free video editors.

Launch of Clipchamp

Clipchamp is a online video editor, but you can "" it from the Microsoft Store if you want; the ed application will actually open the publisher's website in its own window, nothing more. If you want to do without the installer, just go to https://clipchamp.com/ru/. The listed page is in Russian, but after logging in with a Microsoft or otherwise, the editor interface is already in English, and I did not find the option to change.

One more thing: at the time of writing this review, the editor is paid, but: there is a Microsoft code that includes all the features for one month: cc-mstore-1. Enter it in Settings – Billing – Upgrade Plan, select Business Platinum and enter the code in the Coupon Code field. The second option is to click the Upgrade button located at the top right of the main window.

After entering and pressing Apply, the price changes to 0,00, although you still have to insert the card and if you forget the subscription, then after a month a very unpleasant amount will be canceled, be careful (I did not enter and use at all, I will limit myself to the free version).

With the Clipchamp video editor, the available functions are

In the main editor window, we have the following options:

  1. Get started with a template - Start with a template with templates for various purposes and social media.
  2. Start with a recording - It starts with a recording (screen, camera).
  3. Create video Under your videos, launch an editor that allows you to load videos or other elements, place them on a timeline and edit as in any other non-linear video editor. Ready-made templates and actions (such as recording) can also be found here.

If you've ever used simple video editors with multiple tracks, you'll have no problem using Clipchamp: the logic is similar to Premiere Pro, and you can add video, images, animated text, music, and other video elements.

Of course, clipping, effects (filters), transitions, color and speed corrections, element transformations and other actions. I don't even know what else to write, I'll try to show it in the video below.

Conclusion: the video editor it's easy to use, but the lack of Russian language and the limitations of the free version (export only in 480p) spoil everything. If in the future Microsoft "implements" it on Windows, adds the Russian language and makes it free (well, what if?) it will be one of the best online editors for novice s, which you can use.
