Always show all icons in the notification area in Windows 11: how do I activate it?
By default, Windows 11, like the previous version of the system, hides the icons in the notification area (system tray), but while it was previously possible to enable showing all icons, now this option is not available in the notification area. taskbar settings. However, it is still possible to enable the desired behavior.
This short tutorial details how to enable the display of all icons in the notification area in Windows 11. On a related topic, it might be helpful: How to disable icon grouping in the Windows 11 taskbar.
Activation of the display of all the icons in the Windows 11 tray
In the taskbar customization options, the required icons in the notification area are displayed under “Taskbar corner overflow”.
This method is not without its drawbacks: not all icons can be enabled to display automatically, and even if an icon display is enabled for a certain program, after updating it may disappear and need to be re-enabled.
One way around it is to enable all icons:
- Press the keys Win + R on your keyboard or right-click the Start button and select Run.
- Enter the command
explorer shell:::{05d7b0f4-2121-4eff-bf6b-ed3f69b894d9}
and press OK or Enter.
- Check the option “Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar” and press “OK”.
This will show all the icons in the notification area, but there are nuances:
- If you have previously changed the behavior of the icons in the system tray in any way (not through configuration, but using the registry editor or other "unofficial" methods), it is possible that the activation of the "Always show all icons” is not available and has no effect on how the icons are displayed. For example, this can happen if you enable the display of notification area icons in multiple rows.
- Presumably, in future versions of Windows, the control item that we invoked with the previous command will no longer be available, something similar has already happened with other system settings.
The method currently works with the latest final version of Windows 11 and allows you to quickly enable all the icons in the bottom right corner of the screen.
