Method 1: Check site availability

If you only have one website that's down, don't worry: it's not uncommon for the servers that host them to have momentary crashes and other problems. Just wait a few minutes and try again. It also happens that the site is not open for a longer period, for example, for a day, due to technical or other problems. You can use special websites to monitor the availability of a certain URL and one of these online services can be found at the following link.

Go to 2IP to check if another site is accessible

Enter the URL that is not accessible in the unique field and click "Define"..

2IP will try to access this site via IP addresses in different countries, and the results here are 3:

• No access - this means that the site is completely 'down' for all countries. In this case, you have to wait for it to be operational again.
• Access is partial: the site is most likely down due to internal problems with the servers in some of the countries where they are located. Again, you don't need to do anything, just wait.
• The access is there - the site is working, but for some reason your computer cannot open it. To discuss this, go to the following Ways and Means articles, starting with 3.

Method 2: Check Internet Availability

The main thing is to check the availability of the Internet as such. Try opening a few different sites to see if some of them are accessible or if there is no network access at all. Launch another web browser - even the one built into your operating system will do this - and start opening the most popular sites there.

• If there is no Internet on the computer and the corresponding icon appears in the taskbar tray, check the physical connection.
• Check that the LAN cable is connected correctly, and if you are using Wi-Fi, if the module is turned on.
• Look at the router - it should have all the lights that were on before when the network was present.
• Disconnect the LAN cable from the router and connect it directly to the PC / laptop unless you are sure the router is not the cause of the problem.
• If the checks reveal nothing, look for the problem already on the connection side: it is probably a momentary ISP failure. Wait a bit and the company's technical service.

Method 3: Activate the VPN

This recommendation is only relevant in situations where there is no access to a specific site that worked well before and that, judging by checking with the first method, works now. It has probably been blocked by your country's ISP or you can only access it through IP addresses in other countries due to other reasons. It is not difficult to mask your IP: you just have to activate the VPN application, which is built into Opera or which you can choose yourself. Method 4: Disable third-party programs and extensions

Some programs affect your Internet connection. Most of them are VPNs in the form of independent OS applications or browser extensions. s of this type of software can accidentally connect to some country whose IP is included in the list of banned sites, so an attempt to open a specific URL ends with an error. Or they just have a bad server, whose connection speed is too slow and it can't connect. Close any program that affects the Internet in one way or another and access the desired site again.

To avoid deactivating extensions, simply open an incognito session in Opera - no extension is active in it by default, unless of course you have manually activated this feature in each of its settings.

If sites load normally in incognito mode, go to "Menu". > "Extensions".> "Extensions". and deactivate the active extension one by one, after each of them access the previously inaccessible sites.

Also, it's worth noting that Opera also has a built-in VPN extension, so don't forget to check its status and also disable it to check access to sites.

Opera's built-in VPN works in incognito mode too, keep that in mind. It often blocks Internet access if it works in conjunction with, for example, a VPN program running on your computer.

Method 5: Change DNS settings

Due to Internet recommendations or to change the IP address without using VPN software, some s change the DNS settings in the operating system. Also, these settings can be prescribed without your knowledge, like viruses, and these kinds of things are not uncommon.

To confirm or reject this assumption, go to the properties of your network adapter and find out your DNS settings.

6. See what is explained in the section with DNS. Today, most ISPs do not ask s to enter this data, so normally the configuration should be in the state "Obtain DNS server address automatically.". If your ISP gave you a connection sheet or card, find it and enter the IP and DNS manually.
7. Some s have entered the DNS for the proxy in these fields themselves, and they may have stopped working. Google or Yandex DNS is also popular with s, but if they have any kind of problem, some sites may not open and others will do so without a problem. Therefore, if you do not want to give up the DNS of the selected search engine, you only have to temporarily switch to an automatic setting. If you do not enter anything here, and you do not have data for the connection, also, activate the DNS server for automatic reception.
8. We recommend writing down the addresses just in case, or taking a screenshot of the window, so that you can retrieve these addresses at any time. After saving the changes, it is better to restart the PC.

The same is true for routers: if you have recently logged in and made any changes, especially in the DNS section (such as when configuring DH), undo it.

It makes sense to clear the DNS cache and routing table of the gateway entries. To do this, do the following:

1. Open "Symbol of the system". o "Windows PowerShell". (whichever is more convenient) with privileges. This can be done by right-clicking on "Start". (on Win 8/10) or, for example, looking at "Start"..

Method 7: disable security software

Sometimes it is not viruses that block Internet access, but antivirus, oddly enough. For example, this sometimes happens with Windows' built-in firewall.

This window, as shown above, may not appear for all s, causing Internet access through Opera to be blocked, while other browsers open any URL. Stop it, start Opera and start accessing some sites.

If that doesn't help, don't forget to re-enable all antivirus programs.
